Club Brugge aims to become the most innovative football club in the world. To achieve this ambition, we are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our Development Team. This team is part of the Club Innovation department, which is responsible for developing and implementing advanced technologies and data-driven solutions to enhance our performance both on and off the field.
For the sports department, you will develop and maintain data-intensive web applications and data pipelines for scouting and performance analyses. For the business department, you will integrate 360-degree data from our fans into our business data platform, which supports the Club Brugge app, among other things.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining our data platforms. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative solutions for the challenges we face. Your tasks will include:
Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend systems and REST APIs that power our data-intensive applications, using service-oriented architecture principles for robust and scalable solutions.
Integrating data from various sources into the Club Brugge data platform to support the data analysis and insights teams.
Collaborating with various teams within Club Brugge to create innovative solutions for different departments.
You have prior work experience in a similar role.
You have experience with AWS (ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3), good knowledge of Python and Java, and are familiar with various database technologies.
You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and containerization (Docker). Knowledge of Kafka, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design is a plus.
You are problem-solving oriented and use these skills to quickly resolve bugs.
You have knowledge of various data formats (JSON, Avro, Parquet, etc.). Experience with data lake, warehouse, and lakehouse technologies is an advantage.
You enjoy working collaboratively and are adaptable to change.
You work precisely and results-oriented.
You are fluent in both Dutch and English.
